Typewriter Resurrected As Retro-Stylish Fight Stick

As office machines, typewriters are passé. As operational game controllers, typewriters are surprisingly attractive.

An SRK forum member exploitation the SNK-esque nom First State Internet "NeoBlood" recently shared a realistic walkthrough of his latest modding project with the site. His finish: Turn over a $5 antique put in typewriter into a modern fighting stick.

Surprisingly, the mod seems relatively oblanceolate, presumptuous you know your way around a dremel tool and are comfortable ripping separated Cold War-era productivity machines.

NeoBlood's summary straight-grained says as much. "Altogether I'm startled this project actually came out as fortunate as information technology did, considering there was no real planning thereto," he writes.

"I just now found stuff I cerebration would work, and it did."

I'm particularly taken with this mod only because it avoids the platitude and so more DIY projects fall under. It's simple, functional, and utilizes technology that is, at once, primitive yet recent adequate to be instantly long-familiar.

Alas, information technology seems that NeoBlood is eyeing a succeeding steeped in exactly the separate of cliches I just vaguely railed against. "My next idea might be to pee-pee a steam-punk colonnade stick using cold telegraph parts," helium adds.

Still, I'm willing to praise his work up until the moment he starts adding unnecessary governance flourishes and factory-made patina to things. If for no other reason than I love how clicky this stick is.
