Zelda Hourglass Ds Easy Way to Get Golden Ship Parts

Ship parts are fun little collectibles that add interesting cosmetic touches to your drab watery companion. Later on when the shipyard finally opens its doors for business, you can customize the look of your ship by swapping in and out specific parts. It doesn't cost you a penny to do so! Beyond the simple aesthetics though, there are more benefits to be gained from finding ship parts and their matching sets. Quite simply, if you combine parts from a certain set, you can increase the ship's maximum health.

Ship parts can be obtained from chests, received as gifts, or bought from shops. The part you get, however, is usually randomized, which means the source could generate a different part every time. Golden ship parts are the rarest and thus the most difficult to find of them all. These can be bought from Beedle, won from mini-games, earned by spending some time in Multiplayer or trading with other Zelda players. But they can also be found normally just like any other ship part; just the chances of casually finding one is greatly reduced.

TIP

A helpful tip when trying to collect them all is to save every time before you get a ship part, so if you don't get the one you want on the first try, load up and try again. Another method is to sink enemy Pirate Ships and head to the spot where the boat was destroyed. You can salvage its parts for your own use! But if you dock at an island or leave the quadrant, the Pirate Ship will be back.

Sometimes you may find two or more duplicates of a ship part. You can pawn them off at the Treasure Teller for usually 50 Rupees or so (Golden parts are worth 1,500 Rupees), or reserve them for trade with friends via WiFi. It may be necessary to trade with friends to complete your collection!
